Aubay Portugal is seeking a seasoned Data Engineer to design robust data pipelines, model data efficiently, and ensure data quality across cloud-based platforms. You will contribute to large-scale projects using Spark, Hadoop, and Hive in a hybrid setup across Porto, Lisbon or Braga.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years in data engineering, strong SQL proficiency, and hands-on experience with AWS and Terraform, plus English communication skills for global teams.

Qualificações

• At Aubay, 5+ years of data engineering experience is mandatory.
• Proficiency in Python or Java or Scala and SQL is required.
• Public cloud experience (AWS) and IaC tools like Terraform are required.
• Knowledge of Big Data concepts and Spark/Hive/Cassandra ecosystems is expected.

What will you do?

• Design and maintain robust data pipelines, ensuring seamless data flow from various sources to storage and analytical platforms.
• Craft and optimize data models for efficient data retrieval and analysis, balancing performance and scalability.
• Implement rigorous testing and validation protocols to guarantee the accuracy and integrity of data.
• Proactively identify and solve data processing issues, enhancing the performance and reliability of data systems.
• Engage in large-scale data projects, utilizing frameworks like Apache Spark for efficient data handling and processing.
• Work on cutting-edge projects that process and analyse data in real-time, ensuring swift data delivery and insights.

What are we looking for?

At Aubay, our focus is on professionals who bring both technical expertise and the right

mindset:

• Solid experience of at least 5 years in Data Engineering (mandatory), demonstrating a strong command of the field.
• Proficiency in Python or Java or Scala and experience with querying languages such as SQL (mandatory).
• Proven experience with public cloud platforms, especially AWS (mandatory), and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform.
• Knowledge of Big Data concepts, data modeling, and familiarity with tools in the Big Data ecosystem (e.g., Hadoop, Cassandra, Apache Spark, Apache Hive).
• Experience in designing and implementing data-driven architectures, preferably in public cloud environments, with an understanding of SQL/NoSQL solutions.
• Advanced English language skills (B2.2/C1) for effective communication in a global team.
• Residency in Portugal (if you’re not based in Portugal, we can’t consider your interest).
