act digital is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join a product-focused team designing, building, and maintaining modern cloud-native data platforms in Lisbon. You will develop scalable data pipelines, optimize architectures, and deliver reliable data solutions for business-critical processes.

You will work with AWS and Snowflake, build data models, ensure data quality, and collaborate across teams to meet requirements and continuously improve the service.

Qualificações

• Experience as a Data Engineer in cloud-based environments.
• Hands-on AWS (S3, Lambda, ECS, RDS, SQS, SNS, IAM, CloudWatch).
• Strong Snowflake experience.
• Advanced SQL and analytical DB development.
• Strong Python development (Pandas, Boto3).
• Experience with Airflow, AWS Step Functions, or Prefect.
• Experience with dbt Core is valued.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and GitHub or GitLab.
• IaC with Terraform or CloudFormation is a plus.
• Experience with Jira and Agile methodologies.
• Strong English communication skills.

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join a product-focused team responsible for designing, building, and maintaining modern cloud-native data platforms. You will play a key role in developing scalable data pipelines, optimizing data architectures, and delivering reliable data solutions that support business‑critical processes.

Location: Lisbon

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain cloud-based data pipelines for batch and real‑time processing.
• Build and optimize scalable data solutions using AWS and Snowflake environments.
• Develop integrations with multiple data sources, including APIs, FTP, and SFTP platforms.
• Create and maintain data models, database objects, stored procedures, views, and scripts.
• Implement data quality controls, monitoring solutions, and automated alerting mechanisms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver business‑oriented data solutions.
• Participate in incident resolution, platform support, and continuous service improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to data governance, metadata management, and documentation standards.
• Drive performance optimization, scalability improvements, and best engineering practices across the data platform.

Requirements

• Strong experience as a Data Engineer in cloud‑based environments.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS, including services such as S3, Lambda, ECS, RDS, SQS, SNS, IAM, and CloudWatch.
• Strong experience with Snowflake.
• Advanced SQL skills, including complex query optimization and analytical database development.
• Strong Python development skills, including libraries such as Pandas and Boto3.
• Experience with orchestration platforms such as Apache Airflow, AWS Step Functions, or Prefect.
• Experience with dbt Core is highly valued.
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices and version control platforms such as GitHub or GitLab.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation is a plus.
• Experience working in Agile environments and using tools such as Jira.
• Strong communication skills in English.

Nice to Have

• Experience with non‑relational or graph databases.
• Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau.
• AWS certifications (Solutions Architect or similar).
• Snowflake certifications (SnowPro Core or equivalent).
