Job summary

First Derivative is seeking an experienced Calypso Developer to join high-profile transformation programmes in global capital markets. You will design, build and deliver Calypso solutions across the full trade lifecycle, collaborating with Front Office, Risk and Operations to translate business requirements into scalable Java-based systems.

You will contribute to greenfield implementations, version upgrades and cross-regional delivery, working with teams across EMEA, North America and APAC.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Calypso Developer on implementation, upgrade or transformation programmes.
• Hands-on Calypso expertise (v16+ preferred) with strong object model knowledge.
• Solid Java development skills including Spring and Hibernate.
• Background in the full SDLC with strong OO design skills.
• Understanding of the trade lifecycle across front, risk and back-office.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and deliver Calypso solutions across the full trade lifecycle within large-scale implementation and transformation programmes.
• Collaborate with Front Office, Risk, Operations and Technology to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Support greenfield implementations, upgrades and transformation initiatives across global markets.
• Integrate Calypso with external systems via APIs, messaging and batch processing.
• Contribute to the full software development lifecycle from analysis to post-go-live support.
• Develop and maintain unit and integration tests for high-quality deliverables.
• Work with teams across EMEA, North America and APAC to deliver in fast-paced projects.
• Provide technical guidance on the Calypso object model and architecture.
