TP in Lisbon is seeking a Senior BI Engineer to lead the evolution of our BI stack by migrating from Power BI to Databricks. You will design governed semantic models in Unity Catalog, build Databricks dashboards and apps, and empower business users with trusted self‑service analytics.

• 5+ years in business intelligence or analytics engineering.
• Experience with Databricks platform and Unity Catalog.
• Proficient in SQL and Python for data prep.
• Experience migrating BI solutions to Databricks or lakehouse platforms.

Responsabilidades

• Design and maintain governed semantic models — metric views, relationships, certified datasets — in Databricks Unity Catalog as the single source of truth
• Lead the migration of Power BI semantic models, datasets and reports to Databricks-native equivalents, domain by domain
• Build Databricks Dashboards and Databricks Apps delivering production‑grade interactive reporting
• Configure Genie rooms and ontology — business terms, synonyms, verified answers — so stakeholders can query trusted data in natural language
• Partner with the Data Architect and Data Engineering Manager to align data modelling standards and Unity Catalog governance with enterprise architecture
• Define BI development standards, reusable components and best practice for dashboard design and performance optimisation
• Drive adoption through training and enablement, and use usage data to keep improving the self‑service experience

We're hiring a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer to lead the evolution of our BI stack as we move our semantic layer and self-service analytics from Power BI to Databricks. You'll design governed semantic models in Unity Catalog, build Databricks Dashboards and Apps, and give business users across the organisation a trusted way to explore data on their own.

What you'll do

• Design and maintain governed semantic models — metric views, relationships, certified datasets — in Databricks Unity Catalog as the single source of truth
• Lead the migration of Power BI semantic models, datasets and reports to Databricks-native equivalents, domain by domain
• Build Databricks Dashboards and Databricks Apps delivering production‑grade interactive reporting
• Configure Genie rooms and ontology — business terms, synonyms, verified answers — so stakeholders can query trusted data in natural language

What you'll bring

• 5+ years in business intelligence engineering, analytics engineering or a related data role
• Databricks experience across Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, SQL Warehouses, Dashboards, Apps and Genie (or comparable BI ontology tooling)
• Strong SQL plus working Python for data preparation, transformation and automation
• Solid dimensional modelling, metric definition and semantic layer design principles
• Data governance and cataloging fluency — ownership, certification, data lineage, access control
• Excellent communication and a consulting mindset — you can make semantic modelling make sense to a business audience
• Nice to have: Experience migrating BI solutions to Databricks or another lakehouse platform; Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, or similar cloud analytics platforms; Experience with CI/CD, version control, and DevOps practices for BI.; Databricks or Power BI certifications; Experience using AI‑assisted development tools to improve delivery and enable self‑service analytics.
