Wolters Kluwer in Porto is seeking a Senior Backend Developer to transition our software to the cloud using C#, .NET, and Azure. You’ll join an agile team of about six, mainly working from Porto with occasional travel.

You’ll design APIs, implement business logic, mentor juniors, and collaborate with the Technical Architect and Product Owner to deliver robust cloud solutions, with hybrid office days and modern tooling. You’ll be empowered to influence architecture and improve software quality.

About the Business Unit Tax & Accounting Software

The Business Unit Tax & Accounting Software develops and sells products for tax and accounting professionals. Our BU offers a wide range of software solutions: ERP software; accounting, financial and tax advisory, and practice management software.

To support the digital transformation of our BU, we are looking for a Senior Backend Developer Cloud Solutions.

You will work with a team of about 6 people located across different sites. You will mainly work from one of our Porto office, but occasionally travel to other locations.

What you’ll do

As a Senior Backend Developer, you will play a key role in transitioning our software products to the cloud. Your tasks and responsibilities include:

• Being part of an agile development team that values timely delivery of high-quality cloud software
• Focusing on one ongoing project while also being involved in new initiatives
• Developing business logic, designing database interactions, and APIs
• Understanding the basic principles of testing and test automation
• Accurately estimating the impact of requirements on technology and applications based on your expertise
• Challenging requirements and designs and providing constructive input
• Handling complex architectures and code structures
• Collaborating closely with the Technical Architect and Product Owner
• Supporting and mentoring junior colleagues
