Job summary

Epam Systems in Portugal is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to join our team in a fully remote work model. You will help transform insurance operations with AI-powered solutions that automate workflows, reduce processing time, and enable strategic decision-making.

You will design, build, and deploy enterprise AI systems leveraging LLMs, RAG pipelines, and agent-based frameworks to improve efficiency for global stakeholders while ensuring reliability, scalability, and compliance in production

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in CS/Engineering or equivalent.
• 5–8+ years in software engineering or AI/ML roles.
• Proficient in Python and building AI-powered products.
• Hands-on with LLMs, Generative AI, and RAG.
• Experience with CI/CD, containers, and cloud platforms.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities for AI adoption in insurance ops and deliver production-ready solutions.
• Design, develop, and deploy AI apps with LLMs, RAG pipelines, and agentic workflows.
• Build document processing, information extraction, and classification systems for insurance processes.
• Define AI evaluation frameworks for reliability and monitoring.
• Own complete AI solution lifecycle from ideation to deployment.
• Mentor engineers and promote AI best practices.
