Cloudflare is seeking a talented Systems Engineer to join the Security Rules team in Portugal. You will work on microservices primarily in Rust, using Docker, Go, PostgreSQL, Redis, and other technologies to build reliable, scalable security products.

We value curiosity, critical thinking, and teamwork. The role may require on-call support outside normal hours as needed, with opportunities to impact a global internet-scale network.

Qualificações

• 3+ years of relevant professional experience with a technology company.
• Strong programming skills in Rust, Go, C++, or a similar systems-level language.
• Experience building and operating distributed systems.
• Experience with monitoring, alerting and debugging high volume production systems.
• Experience with databases (PostgreSQL, Clickhouse and Memcached).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating empathy, teamwork and ownership.

Responsabilidades

• Design, implement, and maintain the software systems that comprise Cloudflare's Application Security Product Offering such as Rate Limiting, Web Application Firewall and more.
• Participate in all stages of the software development lifecycle, from designing and documenting systems to writing code, automated tests, and monitoring production deployments.
• Collaborate with internal teams to design scalable solutions to difficult technical problems.
• Review work from your peers throughout all stages of the development lifecycle to ensure high-quality, maintainable code.
• Mentor team members and work with support teams to ensure customer delight.
• Debug issues in complex systems and contribute to the maintenance and improvement of operational health.
• Work with a wide range of technologies and programming languages, including Rust, Go, as well as various databases and containers.
