Scandinavian Tobacco Group in Lisbon is seeking a Master Data Specialist to govern financial master data and support key business processes across a global organization.

You will work with Finance teams and cross-functional colleagues to maintain, improve, and govern data quality, ensuring accuracy and integrity of critical financial data. This role emphasizes governance, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Qualificações

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field preferred.
  • 4+ years of work experience with SAP Master Data.
  • Knowledge of Data Standards, Data Quality, and Data Governance.
  • Experience with SAP MDG and MDM tools.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
  • English proficiency and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsabilidades

  • Lead validation of all requests raised for master data maintenance, clarifying with business requestors.
  • Execute complex data maintenance flows across domains following governance policies.
  • Perform root cause analysis on data quality issues and drive remediation efforts.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements for data handling and QA procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with governance policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and report data quality issues within assigned domains and support enrichment initiatives.
  • Develop strong cross-functional relationships and stay updated on data governance best practices.
  • Support MDM and SAP system upgrades, data migrations, and integrations for financial data.

As our new Master Data Specialist, you will be part of our Master Data Management team and play an important role in ensuring the quality and integrity of financial master data. You will work closely with Finance teams, business stakeholders, and colleagues across functions to maintain, improve, and govern master data. This is a great opportunity to make a meaningful impact by ensuring the quality, accuracy, and reliability of data across an international organization.

In This Role, You Will Typically Focus On
  • Lead validation of all requests raised for master data maintenance, performing detailed clarification with business requestors during both request creation and maintenance phases.
  • Execute complex data maintenance flows independently (create, update, extend, deactivate) across assigned domains, following established standards and governance policies.
  • Perform root cause analysis on data quality issues and drive remediation efforts to resolve problems systematically.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements for data handling, maintenance workflows, and quality assurance procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with controls framework, master data governance policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and report data quality issues within assigned domains, contributing to periodic cleanup and enrichment initiatives.
  • Ensure a customer-centric and partnership approach to develop strong relationships with other working groups.
  • Stay updated on data governance and financial reporting best practices.
  • Support MDM and SAP system upgrades, data migrations, and integration efforts related to financial data.
What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or related areas is preferred.
  • 4+ years of work experience related to SAP Master Data.
  • Knowledge of Data Standards, Data Quality, and Data Governance principles, with a focus on Financial Data.
  • Good understanding of financial data and its importance in financial reporting and analysis.
  • Working experience of MDM tools & systems, preferably SAP MDG.
  • Effective communication, problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Collaborative mindset to work effectively within the team and with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with financial systems and data management practices, particularly SAP FI-CO.
  • Excellent communication skills and English proficiency.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
