Fieldwork Robotics in Portugal is seeking a Fleet Control and Data Acquisition Software Engineer to design, develop, and optimise modern C++ software for robotic platforms, focusing on fleet control, data pipelines, and performance monitoring.

You will work with ROS2 and Linux, collaborate across robotics, vision, ML, mechanical, and electronics teams in an Agile environment, and contribute to real-time data capture, analysis, and deployment readiness.

Qualificações

• 3+ years experience in an industry software design position.
• Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Strong commercial experience with modern C++ (C++11-20) and Linux.
• Experience with performance testing, profiling, and software optimisation.
• Experience with databases, ideally PostgreSQL, and data-driven software systems.
• Experience with robotics software development and integration (ROS2 beneficial).

Responsabilidades

• Design, develop, and optimise modern C++ software for robotic platforms, focusing on fleet control, data acquisition, and performance monitoring.
• Develop real-time data pipelines to capture, aggregate, transfer, and analyse robotic system data.
• Identify and integrate fleet management frameworks such as Open RMF to support autonomous robot scheduling.
• Collaborate with robotics, vision, machine learning, mechanical, and electronics teams within an Agile development environment.
• Test, debug, and validate software performance, reliability, and deployment readiness.
