MOV.AI is seeking a Senior Robotics Software Engineer to strengthen the robotics platform, focusing on robust, production-ready software for autonomous mobile robots.

The role emphasizes hands-on development, ROS1/ROS2 migration, navigation and localization improvements, and deploying solutions in live customer environments within a hybrid work model in Portugal. You will work with Docker, Linux, and cross-disciplinary teams to deliver reliable industrial robotics software.

Qualificações

  • Strong experience in Robotics Software Engineering.
  • Solid knowledge of ROS1 and/or ROS2.
  • Experience with robot navigation, localization, and autonomous systems.
  • Familiarity with Linux and Docker-based development.
  • Experience deploying robotic systems into production environments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for building reliable industrial robotics software.

About the Role

MOV.AI is looking for a Senior Robotics Software Engineer to strengthen the robustness, reliability, and industrial readiness of its robotics software platform. This is a hands-on engineering position focused on real-world robotic deployments rather than research or theoretical algorithm development.

Your Responsibilities
  • Develop and enhance robotics software for autonomous mobile robots.
  • Support and contribute to ROS1 to ROS2 migration initiatives.
  • Improve navigation, localization, and robot behavior.
  • Increase system robustness, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Develop software across multiple components of the robotics platform.
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues in production environments.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality robotics solutions.

What You’ll Work With
  • ROS1 as the current production stack.
  • ROS2 Navigation Stack running in Docker containers.
  • ROS1 ROS2 bridge communication.
  • Industrial AMR deployments in live customer environments.
