About The Role
We are looking for a Compliance and Risk Manager – ideally with a strong legal background (Lawyer/Attorney-at-Law) – to take a leading role in shaping our compliance and risk management policies and practices. This professional will play a crucial role in safeguarding the company’s integrity, ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory obligations, and proactively mitigating operational and reputational risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor compliance policies and procedures aligned with applicable legal, regulatory, and ethical standards;
- Identify, assess, and mitigate corporate risks, including operational, legal, financial, and reputational risks;
- Promote a culture of compliance across the organization through training, internal communication, and ongoing support;
- Monitor legislative and regulatory changes relevant to the sector and ensure internal practices remain aligned;
- Conduct internal audits and regular risk assessments, reporting key findings to senior management;
- Coordinate due diligence processes for partners, suppliers, and clients, ensuring compliance with internal policies and legal requirements;
- Act as the main point of contact for regulatory bodies and external auditors;
- Prepare and submit required reports and documentation to competent authorities (e.g., Banco de Portugal, Turismo de Portugal, among others);
- Collaborate closely with Legal, Finance, HR, and IT teams to ensure process consistency and compliance best practices;
- Investigate potential breaches of internal policies and implement corrective measures when necessary.
What We’re Looking For
- Degree in Law, Management, Economics, or a related field (postgraduate studies in Compliance, Risk Management, or Internal Control are a plus);
- Solid experience in compliance, internal control, or risk management roles;
- Strong knowledge of national and European legislation applicable to the company’s activities;
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills;
- Strong communication abilities and confidence interacting with diverse stakeholders;
- High sense of responsibility, confidentiality, and integrity;
- Fluency in Portuguese and English (spoken and written);
- Ability to lead continuous improvement initiatives and drive organizational adaptation in regulated environments.
