Job summary

Vodafone Group Plc is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to shape resilience strategies for distributed systems and ensure service continuity. You will lead SRE practices, set SLOs/SLIs, and partner with performance and operations teams to meet targets.

You will drive chaos testing, automation, and observability improvements while collaborating with product, infra, and development teams to build in redundancy and graceful degradation.

Qualifications

• BSc or equivalent in a technical field with strong fundamentals.
• Deep understanding of SRE, SLOs/SLIs, error budgets and reliability improvement.
• Strong knowledge of distributed system behavior and dependency management.
• Experience analyzing system performance including latency, throughput, errors and degradation.
• Experience designing resilience and failover strategies for highly available systems.
• Comfort validating failover, degraded-mode and recovery scenarios.
• Strong telemetry and observability tooling experience (Grafana/Prometheus/OpenTelemetry).
• Fluent written and spoken English with clear communication to technical and business audiences.

Responsibilities

• Developing and governing resilience strategies across system architecture, deployment, monitoring, and incident response.
• Defining and tracking stability KPIs (MTTD, MTTR, error budgets) with cross-functional teams.
• Designing resilience validation through chaos engineering and scenario-based tests.
• Collaborating with product, infra, architecture and development teams to redesign services with redundancy and graceful degradation.
• Driving automation and observability improvements to reduce noise and speed fault detection.
• Contributing to Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery planning for IoT systems.
• Owning the resilience roadmap and guiding evolution with emerging tech and threats.
• Evangelizing resilience culture through internal comms, workshops, and post-incident learning.
