SGS Competence Centre for Molecular Biology (CCMB) in Lisboa is seeking a talented molecular biology/biotechnology researcher to join a dynamic team focused on food safety and authenticity. You will design and perform laboratory experiments, actively compile results, and report progress to the R&D Manager in a fast-paced setting.

A PhD is preferred, with at least one year of relevant experience, and English fluency is required.

Qualificações

• PhD in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or related areas; MSc considered if experienced
• Minimum 1 year of molecular biology lab experience, preferably in food testing
• Experience with DNA/RNA extraction, PCR/qPCR, NGS, and related assays
• Strong data analysis and visualization skills; English fluency (spoken and written)

Responsabilidades

• Design and conduct laboratory experiments for project development, including complex methodologies
• Compile experimental results and actively participate in results reporting to the R&D Manager
• Work independently and in a collaborative team within a fast-paced environment

The Competence Centre for Molecular Biology (CCMB) is looking for a talented molecular biology/biotechnology researcher, to be a part of a dynamic team environment. The selected candidate will work on several molecular biology techniques, particularly focusing on food safety and food authenticity.

Job duties

• Conduct and design laboratory experiments and activities defined for projects development, including performing complex methodologies
• Actively participate in experimental results compilation
• Regularly report all experimental results and projects development to the R&D Manager
• Work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced, highly dynamic environment
• PhD in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or related areas (MSc will be considered depending on experience)
• One year of relevant experience in a molecular biology laboratory environment, ideally in food testing

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with DNA/RNA extraction, ELISA, electrophoresis, PCR, qPCR, digital PCR, NGS (Illumina & ONT)
• Familiarity with setup and design of molecular biology assays, including primer design.
• Strong data analysis and visualization skills
• Experience with bioinformatics analysis (especially in the context of NGS)
• Fluency in English – spoken and written
• Solid organizational skills and sense of responsibility
• Proactivity and problem-solving skills
