Job summary

CloudLinux is seeking a Staff Engineer for Imunify360, a multi-layer security suite for Linux servers. This role is fully remote with international teams, and you will drive architecture while spending 30-50% of time writing production code across Python, Go and Rust.

You will mentor engineers, set engineering standards, and align cross-squad work with ADRs and RFCs. Deep Linux internals and threat modeling are essential. Flexible hours and strong impact across a global product.

Qualifications

• 10+ years building and operating production software across multiple teams.
• Strong Python experience with Go or Rust.
• Deep Linux internals: processes, filesystems, kernel interfaces (inotify/fanotify, packaging), systemd.
• Experience designing distributed systems at scale including async backends, queues, databases, caching and failure modes.
• Owns systems that run on customer machines and understands upgrade safety and backward compatibility.
• Security mindset: threat modeling and secure coding.
• Writes concise technical documents and drives decisions in async, remote teams across time zones.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end architecture of Imunify360 as a product: agent server backends, data flows and contracts.
• Drive ADRs and RFCs for cross-squad changes; run architecture sync with Technical Director.
• Maintain a living risk register with owners and dates; fund top items on roadmap.
• Lead cross-squad initiatives with ADRs and staged rollout; ensure release safety across a large fleet.
• Mentor senior engineers and squad leads toward staff-level scope; participate in hiring.
