Jobgether is seeking an experienced Software Architect (PHP/Symfony) fully remote, based in Portugal. You will shape architecture for a high-volume fintech platform, drive modernization, and mentor senior engineers across multiple teams.

The role requires 8+ years in backend development, strong PHP/Symfony experience, and deep knowledge of distributed systems, DDD, and microservices. You will collaborate with product and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure solutions.

Qualificações

• Minimum 8 years of backend software development experience in production-grade environments.
• Strong commercial expertise in PHP and Symfony framework development.
• Experience in architecture-focused roles (Software Architect, Solution Architect, System Architect, Principal Engineer, Lead Backend Engineer).
• Experience in fintech, payments, banking, EMI, PSP, open banking, or regulated industries.
• Deep understanding of OOP, SOLID, GRASP, and software design patterns.
• Experience with high-load, distributed, scalable systems.
• Knowledge of Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and modern architectural approaches.
• Hands-on with Event-Driven Architecture, CQRS, Event Sourcing, and microservices.
• Advanced knowledge of PostgreSQL, data modeling, and performance optimization.
• Experience with Redis, messaging, caching, and async processing.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, cloud-native architectures, monitoring, observability.
• Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to balance technical quality with business objectives.

Responsabilidades

• Define, evolve, and maintain architecture of mission-critical fintech products and services.
• Establish architectural standards and development best practices across teams.
• Lead architecture reviews and validate designs for scalability, reliability, security, and maintainability.
• Design and optimize highly available, fault-tolerant distributed systems for large transaction volumes.
• Drive domain modeling, service boundaries, and communication strategies across platforms.
• Collaborate with technical leads to address architectural challenges and strategic initiatives.
• Design and oversee integrations with external platforms, banking systems, and compliance services.
• Identify risks, scalability constraints, and bottlenecks with mitigation strategies.
• Support modernization, refactoring, and reduction of technical debt.
• Translate business requirements into sustainable technical solutions with stakeholders.
• Mentor senior engineers and promote architectural excellence.
