Intermedia is seeking a Data Engineer (Middle) to join IT Business Systems & Security in Portugal. The role supports a remote‑friendly setup with occasional Coimbra office visits and future office openings in Aveiro and Porto.

You will own data pipelines from ingestion to consumption using Snowflake, dbt, MSSQL, and S3, with a strong emphasis on SQL and data quality. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in data engineering or analytics, strong SQL skills, and hands‑on experience with production

Qualificações

• Degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or similar.
• 3–5 years doing data engineering, data analysis, or similar.
• SQL that actually impresses people—joins, window functions, and performance considerations.
• Ability to read stored procedures and diagnose issues.
• Experience with production databases (MSSQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL or similar).
• Understanding data flow: raw → staging → consumption; why shortcuts hurt.
• Incremental loads with watermarks; MERGE vs INSERT trade-offs.
• Git for version control; code reviews and PRs.
• Familiarity with Snowflake, dbt, and related data tools.
• Python for scripting and automation.

Responsabilidades

• Build and fix pipelines—ingestion, transformation, consumption.
• Write dbt models with tests and docs.
• Trace data issues from report back to source.
• Troubleshoot incidents: MSSQL, Snowflake, S3 issues.
• Run backfills and validate results to confirm fixes.
• Migrate data from MSSQL to Snowflake without loss.
• Monitor data quality and alert on anomalies.
• Document processes so future you can understand.
