Job summary

NextGig is seeking a remote Backend Developer to build and maintain modular backend services using NodeJS/ExpressJS. The role involves integrating third-party RESTful APIs, collaborating with frontend and blockchain teams, and designing scalable components for a multi-ecosystem platform.

The ideal candidate will have strong database design skills (MySQL, MSSQL), experience with ORM, testing, and version control in a distributed environment, including Docker deployments.

Qualifications

• Proficient in building RESTful web applications with NodeJS/ExpressJS and ORM.
• Experience with reflective programming or designing generalized/introspective code.
• Strong database design, optimization of SQL queries, and DB security/encryption (MySQL/MS SQL).
• Professional code documentation and testing with Jasmine/Karma or similar.
• Version control with Git or SVN including branching and tagging.
• Experience running services in Dockerized, clustered environments.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain backend modular services (NodeJS/ExpressJS).
• Integrate third-party RESTful APIs and expose endpoints to other systems.
• Collaborate with frontend and blockchain developers to meet platform goals.
• Design modular components for scalable platforms with changing requirements.
