Intermedia is seeking a Software Developer – Backend API Services in Portugal. You will design, build, and maintain API-driven backend services for a cloud communications platform, balancing performance, reliability and maintainability.

The role emphasizes solving complex problems, reading legacy code, and contributing to architecture decisions. Occasional visits to the Coimbra/Aveiro offices accompany primarily remote work and future Porto expansion.

Qualificações

• 2+ years of backend software development experience.
• Experience with Python and Linux based deployments.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and API design.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and test automation.
• Ability to read, understand, and modify existing code safely.

Responsabilidades

• Design, build, and maintain backend API services for the cloud platform.
• Contribute to architecture decisions for scalability, reliability and observability.
• Drive performance improvements via profiling, optimization, and capacity planning.
• Debug and resolve issues in production and pre-production environments.
• Collaborate with QA to define functional and performance test strategies.
• Write clean, well-tested code and mentor peers to improve standards.
