Job summary

Quion is expanding its Porto Quality Engineering and Test Enablement capability and seeks a QA Engineer to join the Porto office. You will handle functional and technical testing, automation, and quality engineering across the software delivery lifecycle, integrating checks into CI/CD pipelines and coaching teams on best practices.

You will work with developers, Product Owners and QA colleagues to improve automation, reduce manual testing and ensure release readiness from Porto’s Matosinhos

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience designing and maintaining automated test solutions.
• Experience in software testing, test automation, test design, execution and maintenance of automated tests.
• Experience with reusable test data and test environment management.
• Hands-on API testing with tools like Postman; front-end automation with Selenium/Playwright; FitNesse or similar.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD and automated quality controls.
• Familiarity with Agile methods (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and risk-based testing.
• Excellent English communication, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Analyse requirements, user stories and risks to define test coverage and strategies.
• Design, execute and document functional, integration, end-to-end and regression tests.
• Develop, maintain and improve automated tests and reusable frameworks.
• Perform API, front-end, technical and cross-domain testing.
• Support performance, load and stress testing and analyse results.
• Manage test data and contribute to reliable test environments.
• Integrate tests and quality gates into Azure DevOps pipelines.
• Identify and follow up defects and communicate quality risks.
