About The Role
We’re seeking a QA Automation Engineer with a “builder” mindset – someone who doesn’t just want to execute test scripts, but wants to build the testing methodology of a high‑growth security product.
As a QA Automation Engineer at Ethiack, you will take ownership of our testing methods, moving beyond simple bug catching to establishing a culture of quality. Working closely with our developers and DevOps engineers, you will ensure our applications are robust, reliable, and secure by building our automated testing pipeline from the ground up.
Responsibilities
- Own the Testing: Design and implement a comprehensive QA strategy for our SaaS platform.
- Build the Framework: Create and execute automated end‑to‑end and functional tests (we prefer Playwright) to ensure our applications perform flawlessly.
- Go deeper: Invent testing scenarios that go beyond standard use cases to ensure our security products are bulletproof.
- API Integrity: Conduct thorough API testing (both GraphQL and REST) to ensure the integrity of our backend services.
- Pipeline Integration: Collaborate with our DevOps team to integrate automated tests into our CI/CD pipelines, optimizing for speed (parallelization) and reliability (retries).
- End‑to‑end quality: Work closely with our engineers and hackers throughout the product lifecycle. Ensure seamless dataflows between our hacking engine and the user‑facing product.
Requirements
- Builder DNA: You have a knack for finding unique solutions to complex testing problems.
- The golden rule of QA: You understand that automation is for regression, but manual exploration is for discovery. You aren’t afraid to get your hands dirty, manually testing new features.
- Proactive: You can work independently in a startup environment where requirements can evolve quickly.
- Proven track record in a QA Automation role, specifically setting up frameworks for web applications.
- Coding: Strong proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript (preferred) or Python for writing automation scripts.
- Tooling: Deep expertise in modern E2E frameworks. Experience with Playwright is a strong advantage.
- Methodology: Solid understanding of software engineering best practices, QA methodologies, and of the SDLC.
Nice‑to‑Haves
- Experience with Load/Performance testing
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, etc.).
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles or experience testing security products.
Perks
- Potential for stock options, directly linking your success to Ethiack’s growth.
- A dynamic, agile work environment where your contributions lead to tangible impact.
- A chance to be at the forefront of Security innovation.
- Flexible hybrid work arrangement and a healthy work‑life balance.
- Provided MacBook, monitor, and other essential tools.
- Health Insurance.
- Engaging work culture, including quarterly team‑building events.
