PrimeIT in Porto is hiring a Senior Power BI Expert (Team Lead) to design, build, and optimize end-to-end BI solutions for international projects. You will lead a BI team, translate complex requirements into scalable dashboards, and drive data-driven decision making.

You bring 9+ years in BI/Data Analytics with Power BI, strong DAX and SQL skills, and experience in data governance and Agile methods. Nice-to-have: Python/R and cloud platforms.

We are looking for a Senior Power BI Expert (Team Lead)

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and optimize end-to-end Business Intelligence solutions, transforming complex business requirements into scalable, production-ready dashboards and data models.
• Develop advanced Power BI reports and semantic models, ensuring high performance, data accuracy, and seamless integration with client platforms.
• Write, optimize, and maintain complex DAX measures and calculations to support advanced analytics and self-service BI.
• Apply data science techniques (statistical analysis, predictive modelling, and data exploration) to generate actionable insights and support data-driven decision-making.
• Lead and mentor a team of BI analysts and developers, defining best practices, code standards, and review processes.
• Manage the full BI lifecycle, from data ingestion and transformation to deployment, monitoring, governance, and reporting.
• Collaborate closely with software engineers, data specialists, and business stakeholders to deliver solutions aligned with business objectives.
• Contribute to BI and data architecture decisions and to continuous improvement initiatives across projects.

Requirements:

• 9+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or a similar role, with a strong focus on Power BI.
• Proven experience leading and mentoring teams, or coordinating BI projects and stakeholders.
• Expert-level knowledge of DAX and Power BI (data modelling, Power Query, performance optimization, and row-level security).
• Solid experience in Data Science, including statistical analysis, predictive modelling, and data-driven problem solving.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with data warehousing and ETL/ELT processes.
• Strong background in enterprise-scale data and digital platforms.
• Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and Agile methodologies.

Nice to have:

• Experience with Python or R for data analysis and machine learning.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure, or other cloud data platforms (AWS, Databricks, Snowflake).
• Knowledge of Power BI Service administration, deployment pipelines, and CI/CD for BI.
• Familiarity with data security, privacy, and compliance practices.
• Relevant certifications (e.g. Microsoft PL-300, DP-600, or Azure Data/AI certifications).
