Job summary

Fundação Ensino e Cultura Fernando Pessoa invites applications for a First Stage Researcher (R1) in Medical/Health sciences. The 12-month fellowship starts December 2026, hosted at Universidade Fernando Pessoa, Porto, under supervision of Clarinda Festas, with a monthly maintenance grant of €1,090.98.

Requirements include a Physiotherapy degree (16/20+), Portuguese proficiency, and at least one year of clinical experience with older adults.

Qualifications

• Hold a bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy or a higher degree with a final grade of 16/20 or higher.
• Proficiency in Portuguese.
• Immediate availability to start the position.

Responsibilities

• Apply physical assessment instruments for functional assessment and implement a structured Physiotherapy intervention plan over a 12-month period.
• Systematic review of the literature in the field of Physiotherapy intervention in older adults.
• Support for the logistical organisation of the project involving the team and participants, and preliminary data analysis.
