AgileEngine in Porto is seeking a Backend Software Engineer to design and maintain PHP-based systems powering distributed services. You will apply strong OOP and architecture to keep APIs secure, scalable, and performant.

Join a hands-on role focused on robust backend development, collaboration with PMs, architects, QA, and support teams. Expect code reviews, documentation, and alignment with Western European Time.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in CS or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2 years backend software engineering in PHP production environments.
• Solid understanding of OOP, design patterns, algorithms and DS.
• Experience building backend systems and service integrations.
• Proficiency in secure API design and auth concepts.
• Experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL and backend fundamentals.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, and containerized environments.
• Overlap with Western European Time and weekend migration readiness.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and maintain backend systems, APIs, and integrations.
• Contribute to distributed services and microservices for scalability and reliability.
• Apply OOP principles and sound architectural patterns.
• Implement secure authentication and authorization mechanisms.
• Optimize performance with caching and profiling across environments.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Architects, QA, and Support teams.
• Participate in testing strategies with QA/QE teams and code reviews.
• Maintain technical documentation including API specs.
