Adentis Portugal is seeking an experienced F5 BIG-IP Specialist to join our security engineering team in Portugal. You will manage LTM/VE platforms, monitor SSL and certs, and troubleshoot iRules while coordinating with cloud and security teams.

The role emphasizes hands-on delivery, collaboration with developers and SOC, and ongoing platform hardening, upgrades, and security policy enforcement.

Qualificações

• 5+ years hands-on experience in Application Delivery, Network Security, or Cloud Security.
• Operational background with F5 BIG-IP infrastructure.
• Experience with at least one major public cloud provider, preferably Azure.
• Good knowledge of WAF/WAAP technologies.

Responsabilidades

• Manage and administer F5 BIG-IP LTM and VE platforms.
• Oversee virtual servers, pools, nodes, health monitors, and SSL cert management.
• Author, maintain, and troubleshoot iRules; support GSLB/DNS services.
• Maintain WAAP/WAF components and ensure application protection.
• Collaborate with cloud engineers, SOC teams, and vendors; incident handling.
• Perform system upgrades, patching, hardening, and lifecycle management.
• Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and security baselines.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and administer F5 BIG-IP LTM and Virtual Edition platforms.
• Oversee virtual servers, pools, nodes, health monitors, profiles, persistence options, and SSL certificate management.
• Author, maintain, and troubleshoot iRules.
• Support GSLB/DNS services where applicable.
• Maintain and monitor WAAP/WAF components to ensure application protection.
• Perform technical troubleshooting on application traffic flows, SSL/TLS handshakes, and platform performance issues.
• Assist in managing security tooling across Azure and AWS environments.
• Engage in incident handling, root cause analysis, change execution, and vulnerability management routines.
• Conduct system upgrades, patch installations, baseline hardening, and hardware/software lifecycle management.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation, operational runbooks, and security baselines.
• Collaborate closely with application developers, cloud engineers, SOC teams, and technology vendors.

Technical Skills

• In-depth expertise in F5 BIG-IP LTM and Virtual Edition appliances.
• Hands-on proficiency with L4/L7 load balancing, SSL offloading, certificate management, persistence settings, and iRules scripting.
• Solid understanding of WAF/WAAP solutions and application-layer security.
• Familiarity with Azure Firewall, Azure WAF, and Microsoft Defender for Cloud.
• Exposure to AWS Network Firewall, AWS WAF, and associated cloud security features.
• Working knowledge of Akamai services is considered a plus.
• Experience integrating security systems with monitoring, logging, and SIEM platforms.

Candidate Profile

• Ideally 5+ years of hands-on experience in Application Delivery, Network Security, or Cloud Security domains.
• Demonstrated operational background with F5 BIG-IP infrastructure.
• Practical exposure to at least one major public cloud provider, preferably Azure.

Desirable Certifications

• F5 Certified BIG-IP Administrator;
• AWS Certified Advanced Networking or AWS Security;
• Relevant industry certifications in WAF/WAAP technologies;
• ITIL Foundation.
