Job summary

Next Engineering, a Portuguese tech company, is hiring a Senior MuleSoft Developer to lead integration architecture and governance in Lisbon. You will drive MuleSoft strategy, ensure security and scalability, and guide teams through code reviews and best practices.

You will work in a hybrid Lisbon setup, interacting with business stakeholders and technical teams to deliver impactful payments-focused solutions. Fluency in English is required; MuleSoft certifications are valued.

Qualifications

• Proven MuleSoft integration architecture experience.
• API-led architecture and microservices background.
• Experience with enterprise architecture governance.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Experience in business-critical environments, preferably Banking/Financial Services.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management; ability to influence technical teams.
• MuleSoft certifications are highly valued.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP) is a plus.
• Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD and observability is a plus.
• Fluency in English.

• Act as the architecture reference for the organization’s integration teams.
• Define, validate and approve MuleSoft integration architectures, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and best practices.
• Drive architectural governance and standardization across projects and teams.
• Support strategic and business-critical initiatives, with a strong focus on Payments.
• Ensure the performance, scalability, resilience and security of integration solutions.
• Perform code reviews and provide technical guidance to development teams.
• Define and drive the MuleSoft integration strategy and platform evolution.
• Identify architectural risks and make clear technical decisions that ensure long-term sustainability.
• Act as a technical reference for teams and stakeholders across the organization

Your profile:

• Proven experience in MuleSoft integration architecture.
• Strong knowledge of API-led architecture, microservices and integration patterns.
• Solid experience in enterprise architecture and architectural governance.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Experience in business-critical environments, preferably Banking/Financial Services.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence technical teams.
• MuleSoft certifications are highly valued.
• Experience with Azure, AWS or GCP is a plus.
• Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD and observability is a plus.
• Fluency in English.
