Job summary

Bosch Home Comfort Portugal in Aveiro is seeking a Lab Engineer to ensure metrological quality and calibration integrity for measuring equipment, DAQ systems, and test benches. You’ll drive traceability, develop procedures, and support audits across the product development teams in a dynamic setting.

You will work in a cross-functional environment, applying statistics, LabVIEW, and data tools to guarantee reliable results and continuous improvement in calibration processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• Hands-on calibration of temperature, pressure, flow, humidity, and electrical parameters.
• Experience in metrology and traceability management.
• Ability to calculate measurement uncertainty.
• Familiarity with DAQ systems and LabVIEW.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025 is a strong advantage.
• Fluent in English.
• Willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Planning and executing calibrations of measuring instruments and testing systems.
• Defining and maintaining calibration plans and periodic verification schedules.
• Ensuring metrological traceability to national and international standards.
• Analyzing calibration certificates and evaluating measurement uncertainties.
• Investigating deviations, instrument drift, and measurement failures.
• Developing calibration procedures, instructions, and best practices.
• Supporting internal and external audits related to metrology and compliance (ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 17025).
• Managing suppliers and external calibration laboratories.
• Validating new sensors, equipment, and data acquisition (DAQ) systems.
• Supporting development, laboratory, and quality teams in interpreting test results.
• Identifying opportunities and actively contributing to the implementation of process enhancements.
