Accenture, through Soben in Portugal, seeks an experienced MEP Project Manager to lead mechanical and electrical packages for hyperscale data centres across Portugal and Europe. You will oversee design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover, coordinating with clients, contractors and vendors to achieve timely, compliant delivery.

The role requires a strong data centre delivery background, engineering expertise, and excellent stakeholder management.

Qualificações

• Experience delivering data centre projects within hyperscale, colocation, mission-critical, or high-tech environments.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or related discipline.
• Strong technical understanding of mechanical and/or electrical building services systems.
• Experience managing MEP design, construction, testing, commissioning, and handover activities.
• Professional membership or chartered status, or working towards chartership with a recognised engineering institution.
• Thorough understanding of the full project lifecycle from concept to handover.
• Experience with consultancy, client, developer, or contractor delivery of complex construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, controls, programme management and risk management.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to work across international teams.
• Fluency in English; Portuguese language skills advantageous.
• Willingness to travel within Portugal and across Europe.

Soben, part of Accenture, is seeking an experienced MEP Project Manager to join our growing Data Centre team in Portugal.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on large-scale hyperscale and colocation data centre programmes across Portugal and Europe, supporting some of the world’s most recognised technology and cloud providers. You will play a key role in the delivery of mission-critical facilities, leading Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health (MEP) packages from design and procurement through construction, commissioning, and handover.

The successful candidate will bring a strong background in data centre delivery alongside mechanical or electrical engineering expertise, enabling them to successfully manage complex technical projects in fast-paced environments.

Key Responcibilities

As an MEP Project Manager, you will:

• Lead the successful delivery of MEP works across large-scale data centre developments.
• Manage projects from early design stages through construction, commissioning, and operational handover.
• Serve as the primary interface between clients, contractors, consultants, and specialist vendors.
• Drive programme, cost, quality, safety, and performance objectives throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary design and construction teams to ensure project objectives are achieved.
• Monitor contractor performance and ensure compliance with project specifications, standards, and client requirements.
• Oversee risk management, change control, project governance, and stakeholder reporting.
• Support procurement, tendering, and contractor appointment processes.
• Manage testing, commissioning, integrated systems testing (IST), and handover activities.
• Ensure the highest standards of health, safety, quality, and operational readiness are maintained.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships while supporting business growth across the Portuguese and wider European markets.

To be considered for this role, you will have:

• Proven experience delivering data centre projects within hyperscale, colocation, mission-critical, or high-tech environments.
• A degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Strong technical understanding of mechanical and/or electrical building services systems.
• Experience managing MEP design, construction, testing, commissioning, and handover activities.
• Professional membership or chartered status, or working towards chartership, with a recognised engineering institution.
• A thorough understanding of the full project lifecycle from concept through to operational handover.
• Experience working for a consultancy, client, developer, or contractor delivering complex construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, project controls, programme management, and risk management.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across international project teams.
• Fluency in English is essential. Portuguese language skills would be advantageous.
• Willingness to travel within Portugal and across Europe as project requirements dictate.
