Qualifications

Mason - Construction Worker

Position Overview

We are currently hiring for the position of Mason in Funchal, Portugal. As a Mason, you will be responsible for constructing and repairing structures using various materials such as brick, stone, and concrete. This is an entry-level position suitable for freshers who have a passion for construction and are looking to start their career in this field.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints and construction plans to determine project requirements
• Lay out patterns or foundations according to plans using measuring tools
• Mix mortar or grout and spread it evenly between bricks or stones
• Align structures using plumb lines, levels, or squaresCut or shape bricks, stones, or blocks using hand tools or power equipment
• Install insulation or vapor barriers as required by the project
• Clean and polish surfaces using chisels, scrapers, or wire brushes
• Repair damaged brickwork or other structures using appropriate materials

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED preferred
• Previous experience in construction is a plus but not required
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction plans
• Strong physical stamina with the ability to lift heavy objects and work in all weather conditions
• Basic knowledge of different masonry materials and tools used in construction
• Attention to detail with good hand-eye coordination
• Ability to work in a team environment

Salary

The salary for this position is 900$ per month. Additionally, accommodation will be provided along with a free visa and ticket for non-residents of Funchal.
