Market Intelligence Analyst (Associate/Mid-Level/Senior)

Market Intelligence Analyst (Associate/Mid-Level/Senior)

FedEx is the world’s largest express transportation company, connecting more than 220 countries and territories and supporting businesses across global markets. Innovation, operational excellence, and customer insight are at the core of how we grow, compete, and create value. As market dynamics evolve, strong intelligence capabilities are critical to helping the business anticipate change, understand competitive threats, and identify new opportunities.

To support this, we are looking for a Market Intelligence Analyst to strengthen our strategic intelligence capability across Europe.

Role

As a Market Intelligence Analyst, you will play a central role in helping FedEx understand the competitive landscape and broader market environment across the European CEP and freight sectors. The role combines quantitative analysis, market research, and executive storytelling. A significant part of the job will involve tracking market developments, analyzing competitor performance, sizing markets, building forecasts, and translating findings into clear and relevant business updates.

This is a high-impact role for someone who is analytically strong, commercially aware, and comfortable turning complex information into concise insights for decision-makers.

What You Will Do

Level depends on the candidate skills and experience.

You will monitor competitor moves and market developments, including earnings releases, annual reports, external intelligence sources, and broader economic or trade shifts. You will build a clear view of what is happening in the market, what it means for FedEx, and where risks or opportunities may emerge.

You will also support market sizing and forecasting work across the European CEP and freight landscape, helping the business understand the size, shape, and future direction of the market. In addition, the role will contribute to strategic and high-impact projects, including scenario planning, strategy framing, and selected business cases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop market sizing analyses for the European CEP and freight sectors, including segment-level views and growth outlooks.
  • Re-engineer and improve models, tools, and analytical approaches that strengthen strategic decision-making and communication to senior leadership.
  • Monitor competitor activity and market developments across Europe, including earnings, financial disclosures, industry reports, quarterly and annual market sizing, and other relevant intelligence sources.
  • Analyze competitor strategies, market movements, and external signals to identify risks, opportunities, and implications for FedEx.
  • Build market forecasts and support proactive scenario planning around macroeconomic shifts, trade changes, and evolving customer demand.
  • Prepare regular executive updates and presentations that synthesize intelligence into clear, relevant, and actionable insights.
  • Drive the development of competitive intelligence capabilities by improving frameworks, strengthening internal collaboration networks, and connecting with stakeholders across regions and functions.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure intelligence is translated into business action and incorporated into planning discussions.
What We Are Looking For

This role would suit a candidate with strong analytical depth, sound business judgment, and the ability to work comfortably between data, research, and executive communication. The successful candidate should be highly numerate and detail-oriented, but also able to step back, interpret the broader picture, and communicate it in a compelling way.

Experience in competitive intelligence, strategic planning, consulting, or a similar business analysis environment would be highly relevant. Knowledge of transportation, logistics, freight, or parcel markets would be a strong advantage.

Skills And Experience
  • Excellent PowerPoint and Excel skills; comfortable building presentations for senior and executive audiences.
  • University degree or business school background.
  • Around 5 years of relevant professional experience in market intelligence, strategic planning, consulting, business analysis, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to work confidently with quantitative data and convert it into meaningful business insights.
  • Experience monitoring competitors, tracking earnings, assessing market dynamics, and developing strategic recommendations.
  • Strong business acumen and general commercial logic, ideally with knowledge of the transportation or logistics industry.
  • Ability to conduct structured market research and develop market sizing, forecasting, and scenario-based analyses.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present clearly and credibly in English.
  • Proven ability to lead or contribute to high-impact cross-functional projects.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and ambiguous situations.
  • Comfortable working across functions, regions, and different levels of seniority in a matrix environment.
  • Experience with virtual collaboration tools such as Teams, Planner, or Mural is a plus.

Why join us

This is an opportunity to work on topics that are directly connected to FedEx’s competitive position and long-term direction in Europe. The role offers a strong mix of analysis, strategy, and senior stakeholder exposure, and would suit someone who enjoys combining numbers, research, and business storytelling in a meaningful way.

It is also a role with room to shape and improve how intelligence is built and used across the organization - making it a strong fit for someone who wants both impact and visibility.
