Descrição da oferta de emprego

Descrição do cargo

Company At blue OASIS, we develop technology that helps protect and better understand our oceans. We are a fast‑growing technology company creating sustainable solutions for the blue economy. Our expertise spans offshore engineering, underwater acoustics, smart ocean modelling, environmental monitoring and digital twins, helping organisations monitor, understand and manage marine environments. Our flagship platform, Hydrotwin (), is rapidly expanding, with more than 300 monitoring systems operating worldwide. As our global fleet continues to grow, we are looking for a practical, hands‑on Hydrotwin Fleet Technician to help deploy, operate, maintain and retrieve our monitoring systems. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working both on the water and with technology. You'll be equally comfortable operating workboats, installing and servicing Io T monitoring equipment, troubleshooting technical issues, and representing blue OASIS professionally at customer sites.

As a Hydrotwin Fleet Technician, you will play a key role in the global deployment and operation of Hydrotwin monitoring systems. You will be responsible for preparing, deploying, operating, maintaining and retrieving environmental monitoring equipment across coastal and offshore environments, ensuring the reliability and performance of our growing worldwide fleet. This is a hands‑on role combining marine operations, field engineering and customer‑facing technical support. You will operate company vessels, install and commission new systems, diagnose and resolve technical issues, and support customers during deployments. No two days are the same—you may be preparing equipment in the workshop one day and deploying monitoring systems offshore the next. Working closely with our engineering and product teams, you will help ensure Hydrotwin systems deliver high‑quality environmental data while contributing to the continuous improvement of our products and operational procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, deploy, commission and validate Hydrotwin monitoring systems.
  • Plan equipment, tools and logistics for field deployments.
  • Operate company vessels safely during coastal and offshore operations.
  • Retrieve, inspect, service and repair deployed equipment.
  • Install, configure and test sensors, communications equipment and power systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and communication issues.
  • Perform routine maintenance, sensor calibration and firmware/software updates.
  • Assemble, test and prepare new Hydrotwin systems in the workshop.
  • Support customer installations, demonstrations and technical training.
  • Maintain accurate service records, deployment reports and technical documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental procedures during all field activities.
  • Maintain boats, trailers, tools and field equipment in a safe and operational condition.
  • Provide field feedback to support the continuous improvement of Hydrotwin products and operations.
  • Travel nationally and internationally to support customer deployments and maintenance activities.
Expertise Needed

We're looking for someone with a practical mindset and a passion for working at the intersection of marine operations and technology.

Essential Skills: Experience operating vessels in coastal and offshore environments. Valid Carta de Patrão de Alto Mar (or equivalent offshore skipper qualification), or willingness to obtain it. Knowledge of maritime navigation, COLREGs and weather assessment. Experience deploying, recovering and servicing ocean monitoring equipment. Experience with mooring systems, maritime knots, design and deployment. Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. Familiarity with 12/24 V DC electrical systems. Knowledge of sensors, Io T devices and environmental monitoring systems. Ability to use technical tools and diagnostic equipment. Comfortable using laptops, tablets and mobile applications for equipment configuration. Strong understanding of health, safety and environmental practices. Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and organisational skills. Full driving licence. Willingness to travel internationally and work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Added Value
  • Experience working with buoys, pontoons or floating infrastructure.
  • Experience with satellite, LTE/5 G or Lo Ra WAN communications.
  • Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, VPNs and routers).
  • Experience with battery management systems, solar‑powered installations or renewable energy systems.
  • Experience using GIS or mapping software.
  • Commercial drone licence.
  • Forklift, telehandler or crane operator certification.
  • RYA Yachtmaster Offshore (or commercially endorsed skipper qualification).
  • STCW Basic Safety Training.
  • VHF Marine Radio (SRC) certification.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Experience working offshore or aboard research vessels.
  • Background in marine engineering, electrical engineering, environmental technology or oceanographic instrumentation.
