Hikma Pharmaceuticals in Portugal is recruiting a Manager, Manufacturing to lead the Production department and report to the Associate Director, Operations.

The role requires a strong background in pharma manufacturing, regulatory knowledge, and a track record of supervising teams within a highly regulated environment. Direct contract with Hikma includes competitive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Knowledge of CFR 21 CFR, cGMPs, safety requirements, and current EU and FDA regulations.
• Strong manufacturing planning knowledge (short and long-term).
• Ability to work in a highly structured, regulated environment with detail orientation.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

At the end of the 1980s, we extended ours beyond the Middle East and acquired land in Portugal for the construction of a sterile factory for injectable pharmaceutical products. This was an important turning point for the company, and our first step into a new region.
Today, in Portugal, we have more than 1000 employees and 3 factories for the production of injectable medicines.
Hikma intends to recruit an Manager, Manufacturing - (m/f) to integrate the Production department reporting directly to the Associate Director, Operations

Main Responsibilities

• Execution of production plans in a timely manner.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, regulatory requirements, and company procedures.
• Lead and develop a high-performing manufacturing team.
• Drive a strong safety culture and ensure EHS compliance.
• Optimize manufacturing performance, productivity, and resource utilization.
• Reduce deviations, batch losses, waste, and operational inefficiencies.
• Lead continuous improvement and manage projects
• Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Supply Chain to achieve business objectives.
• Monitor and improve KPIs related to Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People.
• Support audits, inspections, validation activities, and regulatory readiness.
• Manage departmental budgets.

Profile

• Academic degree in Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering, Business Management, Pharmacy, or equivalent.
• M.Sc. degree in Industrial Engineering or Pharmacy is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory position within the pharmaceutical industry, preferably in a management role.
• Demonstrated knowledge of 21 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), cGMPs, safety requirements, and current EU and FDA regulations.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of manufacturing techniques and practices, including short and long-term manufacturing planning.
• Ability to work effectively with others and as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to make necessary adjustments and prioritize tasks as needed.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a highly structured and regulated environment, with strong attention to detail and the ability to follow directions, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities.
