The International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory – INL in Braga, Portugal seeks a Maintenance & Installation Officer to ensure continuous availability of technical systems and utilities for operations. You will develop and update the preventive maintenance programme in collaboration with M&I.

Applicants should have a technical degree and at least 3 years in a maintenance role in industrial or laboratory settings, with knowledge of electrical, HVAC, boilers, and absorption of related systems.

Qualificações

• Education: technical degree or equivalent in industrial maintenance or related field.
• At least 3 years in a maintenance technician role in industrial, facilities or laboratory settings.
• Experience with preventive and corrective maintenance of technical systems and utilities.
• Ability to read technical drawings, schematics and maintenance documentation.
• Proficiency with MS Office and maintenance management tools such as AutoCad and BMS.

Responsabilidades

• Ensure continuous availability of technical systems and utilities for operations.
• Develop and update preventive maintenance programme in collaboration with M&I.
• Inspect equipment to verify compliance with standards.
• Identify tools, parts and equipment needed for maintenance tasks.
• Read and interpret diagrams including electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing.
• Recommend and implement measures to improve maintenance methods and performance.
• Assemble, install and support equipment in buildings and laboratories.
• Provide immediate support in case of breakdowns.

Overview

The Maintenance & Installation Sub-Unit is looking for an officer to join their team.

Job Duties

• Ensure the continuous availability of technical systems and utilities required for operations.
• Develop and update the preventive maintenance programme in collaboration with M&I.
• Inspect operating machines and equipment to verify compliance with operational standards.
• Identify the appropriate tools, parts and equipment required to perform maintenance tasks.
• Read, understand and interpret diagrams and technical specifications, including electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing and compressed air.
• Recommend and implement measures to improve maintenance methods, equipment performance and service quality.
• Perform maintenance routines and recommend improvements where necessary.
• Assemble, install and support equipment in buildings and laboratories to meet operational needs.
• Provide immediate support in the event of breakdowns.

Mandatory Qualifications

• Education: Technical degree or equivalent qualification in Industrial Maintenance, Electromechanics, Mechanical, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.

Experience and Technical Skills

• 3 years in a maintenance technician’s role, performing all aspects of building maintenance.
• Previous experience in industrial, facilities or laboratory maintenance environments.
• Experience in preventive and corrective maintenance of technical systems, utilities, machinery and equipment.
• Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, chillers and boilers, compressed air, vacuum, special gas systems and plumbing.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, manuals and maintenance documentation.
• Computer skills, including Microsoft Office and maintenance management tools (e.g., AutoCad and BMS tools).

Other Valued Skills

• Fluorinated gas course/experience.
• Knowledge of occupational health and safety procedures, including safe work practices in technical areas.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and respond effectively to operational needs.
• Awareness of quality, environmental and safety requirements in maintenance activities.
• Experience with refrigeration systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude & experience a plus.
• Facilities maintenance experience.
