Solen Software Group is seeking a motivated M&A Intern to join its Lisbon Corporate Development team. You’ll gain hands-on exposure across the M&A lifecycle in a lean, international environment.

You’ll source software targets, conduct market research, model investments, and support live transactions alongside seasoned professionals. This internship offers real responsibility and a path into private equity and corporate development.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently completed degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or related field.
• Strong interest in M&A, corporate development, private equity, technology, and entrepreneurship.
• Analytical, detail-oriented, resourceful, and proactive.
• Familiarity with Excel and basic financial statements.
• Strong English communication; additional European languages are a plus.
• Willingness to learn and take ownership.

Responsibilities

• Deal Origination: identify, research, and screen potential B2B software targets across Europe.
• Market Research: analyse software verticals, competitive landscapes, and attractive niche markets.
• Founder Engagement: support outreach and relationship-building with founders, entrepreneurs, investment bankers, and advisors.
• Pipeline Management: maintain accurate CRM records, track acquisition opportunities, and support deal progression.
• Investment Analysis: evaluate business models, financial performance, recurring revenue, customer retention, and growth opportunities.
• Financial Modelling: assist with valuation analyses, financial models, and investment assessments.
• Investment Materials: prepare company profiles, market maps, investment summaries, and internal presentations.
• Transaction Support: assist with due diligence, analyse company information, and participate in meetings with founders and advisors.
