Job summary

Work standard is seeking a compassionate caregiver to support elderly individuals in Faro. The role covers personal care, mobility assistance, meal preparation, medication administration, and companionship with flexible hours. A valid CPR/first aid certification is preferred, and Portuguese (or English) communication is valued.

You must reside in or near Faro and have reliable transportation. No accommodation is provided; this is a full-time position with a monthly salary of 1400 USD.

Qualifications

• Compassionate nature with a strong desire to help others.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing situations.
• Physical stamina for lifting/transferring clients and performing household tasks.
• Basic understanding of caregiving techniques or willingness to learn.
• Excellent communication skills in Portuguese (preferred) or English.
• Reliable transportation to travel within Faro for client appointments or errands.
• High school diploma or equivalent education.
• Valid CPR and first aid certifications (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care such as bathing, toileting, and grooming.
• Assist with mobility and physical therapy exercises.
• Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions.
• Administer medication as directed by healthcare professionals.
• Monitor changes in health or behavior and report any concerns to family or medical staff.
• Engage in activities that promote social interaction and mental stimulation.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for the client.
• Communicate effectively with clients, family members, and healthcare professionals.
• Keep records of daily activities and progress.
