The opportunity

As a Legal Secretary within EY’s Core Business Services, you will provide high-level administrative and legal support to our internal legal teams. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of legal processes, maintaining confidentiality, and supporting the delivery of exceptional service across the firm.

Your key responsibilities

• Draft, format, and proofread legal documents including contracts, briefs, motions, and correspondence.
• Manage filing systems for legal documents ensuring accessibility and confidentiality.
• Process and file legal documents with courts and regulatory bodies.
• Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate travel arrangements for legal professionals.
• Handle incoming calls, emails, and correspondence with professionalism and discretion.
• Support the preparation of presentations, engagement letters, and reports.
• Maintain and update legal databases and document management systems.
• Assist in legal research and trial preparation when required.
• Liaise with internal teams, external counsel, and clients as needed.

To qualify for the role, you must have

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a legal secretary or legal assistant.
• Strong knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and court rules.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software (e.g., Clio, ProLaw).
• Excellent organizational, communication, and time‑management skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
• Fluent in Portuguese and English (spoken and written).

Ideally, the candidate also have

• Diploma or certification in Secretarial Studies, Legal Administration, or related field.
• Experience in a multinational or professional services environment is a plus.
