Job summary

Mastercard Inc. is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to architect and own platform capabilities across marketing data platforms at scale.

You will lead UI and data-engineering teams, design RESTful services, and drive cloud-native implementations on AWS with Databricks/Spark ecosystems. You will work across Mastercard to align requirements, ensure high availability, and promote automation and quality frameworks using CI/CD, JUnit, and Mockito.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in building large-scale, highly available platforms.
• Strong knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, and REST APIs.
• Experience with web technologies such as React and GraphQL.
• Background in Big Data tools like Databricks, Hadoop, Spark.
• Hands-on with real-time data ingestion and processing systems.
• Experience designing distributed architectures and cloud-native solutions on AWS.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation.
• Exposure to GenAI/AI-assisted development is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for architecting new platform capabilities.
• Lead cross-functional teams to deliver large-scale platforms.
• Assess technologies and integrate backend data services with UIs.
• Collaborate across Mastercard teams to define requirements.
• Design REST APIs and cloud-native services with Java/Spring Boot.
• Promote engineering best practices and observability.
• Drive platform modernization and cloud transformation initiatives.
• Champion GenAI and automation in the development lifecycle.
