bPUBLIC NOTICE

bI publicly announce that, by my order of 20/08/2025, an international tender to fill 1 vacancy for the position of Junior Researcher is hereby open for 10 days following the publication of the present notice in the Diário da República.

The position will be held at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the Faculty of Science and Technology, University of Coimbra. The contract will be financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), through the Regional Programme CENTRO 2030 (Portugal 2030), operation code CENTRO2030-FEDER-02223400.

Responsibilities
  • Lead research and development tasks focused on data collection, processing, and pattern extraction solutions for integration into artificial intelligence systems.
  • Develop methodologies for validating AI-based models to ensure reliability when applied in real‑world environments.
  • Publish results in top‑tier journals and conferences, and participate in outreach activities.
  • Collaborate with project partners and contribute to project deliverables.
Qualifications
  • PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering, or in a closely related field, demonstrating the ability to conduct advanced research in the main areas of the tender.
  • Minimum age 18 years, in good health, and possess the required psychological profile for the position.
  • Proficiency in Portuguese and English at least at C1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
  • Residency in Portugal or provision to legally work in Portugal.
