Financial Planning & Budgeting
- Support the preparation of annual budgets and business plans.
- Assist in collecting and organizing financial data from different departments.
- Help monitor financial performance and identify basic variances between actual results and forecasts.
- Contribute to the improvement of budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports for management, regulators, and other stakeholders.
- Help ensure data accuracy and consistency in reporting outputs.
- Support the monitoring of key financial metrics and performance indicators.
- Contribute to regulatory reporting activities (e.g., Banco de Portugal, Tax Authority), under supervision.
Tax Reporting & Compliance
- Support the preparation of tax returns and other fiscal obligations.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with Portuguese tax legislation and reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external advisors to ensure accuracy in tax processes.
Internal Control & Process Support
- Assist in the execution of internal controls and reconciliation activities.
- Support the documentation of processes and controls.
- Contribute to audit-related tasks and data validation exercises.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
- Up to 3 years of relevant experience (internships included).
- Previous experience in Big4 or similar professional services firms is a strong advantage.
- Exposure to financial institutions or regulated environments is a plus.
Technical Skills & Knowledge
- Basic understanding of IFRS accounting standards.
- Familiarity with Portuguese tax legislation (academic or practical).
- Knowledge of management accounting and budgeting principles.
- Basic understanding of internal controls and reconciliation processes.
- Good proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (especially Excel).
- Knowledge of Access and SQL is a plus.
- Interest in financial systems and data analysis tools.
- Strong willingness to learn and develop professionally.
