Jobtailor in Portugal is seeking a software engineer to develop and maintain applications that control and optimize automated parcel sorting systems and logistics hubs. You will design and deliver software for major parcel carriers and enable clients to visualize highly automated facilities.

The role requires hands-on Java experience, knowledge of OO design, and familiarity with Kubernetes, CI/CD, and infrastructure automation.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least one year of hands-on experience with Java as the primary development language.
• Experience with other object-oriented programming languages, such as C# or C#, considered an asset.
• Experience developing and/or deploying applications in Kubernetes-based environments.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, software architecture, and OO design principles.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation concepts.
• Excellent English language skills, written and spoken.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to work in an international environment.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and maintain software applications that control and optimize automated parcel sorting systems and logistics hubs.
• Design, implement, deliver, and support software applications for major parcel carriers.
• Enable clients to control and visualize highly automated parcel sorting facilities.
• Optimize software for maximum speed and scalability using efficient algorithms.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and performance issues.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies and incorporate them when appropriate.
• Contribute to improvement efforts within the development team.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Travel occasionally to customer sites worldwide and team meetings in Portugal and Germany, typically less than 10% of working time.
