Körber Supply Chain is seeking a Java Software Engineer to develop software for material flow systems. The role focuses on building and maintaining applications that control automated parcel sorting facilities and logistics hubs, with a strong emphasis on performance and reliability.

You will join a cross-functional team, delivering scalable software in Kubernetes environments and aligning with DevOps practices.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field; equivalent practical experience considered.
• 4+ years of professional experience, including 1+ year hands-on Java development, Java as primary language.
• Experience with Kubernetes-based deployments and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and OO design.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and infrastructure automation.

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Java Software Engineer for Material Flow Systems to join our team and develop software applications that help leading parcel carriers operate highly automated sorting facilities efficiently and reliably. As a Software Engineer, you will work closely with our cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy robust software solutions that enable our clients to control and visualize their automated parcel sorting facilities.

Your role:

• Develop and maintain software applications that control and optimize automated parcel sorting systems and logistics hubs.
• You will be part of a team that designs, implements, delivers and supports software applications for major parcel carriers
• Optimize software for maximum speed and scalability, implementing efficient algorithms.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and performance issues, ensuring a smooth and seamless user experience.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, incorporating them into the development process when appropriate.
• Contribute to improvement efforts within the development team.

Your profile:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent practical experience will also be considered;
• 4+ years of professional experience, including 1+ year of hands-on Java development experience, with Java as your primary programming language.
• Experience with other object-oriented programming languages, such as C# or C++, is also considered an asset;
• You have successfully developed and delivered your own software projects, whether professionally, academically, or personally;
• You bring experience developing and/or deploying applications in Kubernetes-based environments;
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, software architecture, and object-oriented design principles;
• You are familiar with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation concepts;
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills enable you to perform effectively in complex and dynamic environments;
• Experience in logistics, warehouse automation, industrial automation, or material flow systems is an advantage;
• Excellent English language skills, both written and spoken;
• You are a proactive team player with strong communication and collaboration skills, capable of working effectively in an international environment while demonstrating autonomy, flexibility, and ownership of your work;
• You are willing to travel occasionally to customer sites worldwide and to team meetings in Portugal and Germany (typically less than 10% of working time).
