Job summary

Capgemini Engineering is seeking a Java Backend Software Engineer to join a multidisciplinary Agile team. You will design, develop, and maintain scalable backend solutions using Java 17, Spring Boot, and RESTful APIs, contributing to full software lifecycle.

You will work with microservices, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), databases like PostgreSQL/MySQL, and messaging with Kafka/RabbitMQ, while collaborating across international teams and time zones in a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience developing Java-based web applications with Java 17 and Spring Framework.
• Experience with microservices, distributed systems, and security best practices.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, NoSQL databases and messaging like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and DevOps practices.
• Understanding of CI/CD and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Fluent English communication and collaboration across time zones.

YOUR ROLE

As a Java Backend Software Engineer, you will be part of a multidisciplinary Agile team responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and high-performance backend solutions. You will contribute to the full software development lifecycle, working with modern Java technologies, cloud platforms, microservices architectures, and event-driven systems. In this role, you can expect to:

YOUR PROFILE

• Higher education degree or attendance in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science & Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience developing Java-based web applications, including experience with Java 17, Spring Framework, and REST API development.
• Strong knowledge of microservices, object-oriented programming principles, software design patterns, security best practices, and scalable distributed systems.
• Experience working with PostgreSQL, MySQL, NoSQL databases, and messaging solutions such as Kafka and RabbitMQ.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), DevOps methodologies, and Agile software development practices.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across functions and different time zones.
• Fluent English is mandatory.
• Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD). (Nice to Have)
• Experience with CI/CD and containerization technologies such as Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes. (Nice to Have)
• Knowledge of frontend technologies such as Angular, ReactJS, or Vue.js.(Nice to Have)
