Axians Portugal is seeking a Java Backend Developer to join an international project in the financial services sector. You will design, develop, and maintain critical business applications, working with cross-functional teams in a collaborative, multicultural environment.

You will tackle complex technical challenges, apply modern development practices, and contribute to high-impact projects, while ensuring quality and reliability across the software delivery lifecycle.

Qualificações

• Proficient in Java with strong OOP skills.
• Experience in Spring Boot Java applications.
• Knowledge of Oracle SQL and Unix/Linux systems.
• Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices.
• Fluency in English.

Responsabilidades

• Design, develop, test, support, and enhance applications.
• Collaborate with functional and technical teams on business functionalities and data sources.
• Prepare test plans and perform Unit, Integration, Regression, and Functional testing.
• Contribute to technical design with UML diagrams and prototypes.
• Ensure adherence to SDLC standards and meet deadlines.
• Participate in out-of-hours support as required.
• Conduct code reviews and promote process improvements.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for a Java Backend Developer to join an international project within the financial services sector. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of critical business applications, working closely with functional and technical teams in a collaborative and multicultural environment.

What You Will Do On a Daily Basis

• Application designing / development / testing / support / enhancements / bug fixing
• Interact with functional and technical representatives of project teams to understand business functionalities, technical modules, integration mechanism and data sources
• Prepare test plans and conduct Unit, Integration, Regression, Performance and Functional Testing using automated testing frameworks
• Contribute to the technical designing phase and document the design with UML diagrams and models. Create prototype for proof of concept and business requirements validations
• Ensure that the project and organization standards are followed during various phases of software development lifecycle and day-to-day development work
• Estimate efforts, schedule for various modules, and meet deadlines
• Technical and Release Documentation
• Deployment of system components - Application, Shell Scripts and Databases
• Acquire skills in relevant technologies and take up higher responsibilities
• To participate in out-of-hours / daytime support as required
• To ensure that application is of good quality, ensure any issues are fixed on priority
• To work with teams to help solve complex technical problems
• Work towards initiatives to improve processes and delivery efficiency
• Contribute towards innovation; suggest new technical practices for efficiency improvement
• Conduct Code reviews

Your Main Qualifications

• Proficient in Java, with a good knowledge of its ecosystems and proficiency in object-oriented programming
• Experience in Spring boot java applications
• Desirable Experience working Calypso customizations preferable in Back Office area
• Knowledge on Collections API
• Control structures, access modifier, exception handling
• Knowledge in Oracle SQL
• Knowledge in Unix/Linux systems, including scripting languages
• Demonstrable experience with DevOps tools
• Thorough understanding of complete Software Development Lifecycle
• Fluency in English
