Job summary

Cross Border Talents is seeking a Senior Insurance Accountant for our Porto finance team. The role focuses on IFRS 17/9 compliance, financial reporting, and effective accounting operations within an international insurance environment.

The ideal candidate has 6–10 years of experience in accounting, strong technical knowledge, and fluency in English; French is advantageous. The position offers a hybrid work model in Porto and a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related field.
• 6–10 years of professional experience in accounting, preferably within insurance.
• Fluent English (C1); French is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee insurance accounting activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with standards.
• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, accounting records, and reconciliations.
• Ensure IFRS compliance, especially IFRS 17 and IFRS 9.
• Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities.
• Collaborate with auditors during internal and external audits.
• Support accounting systems and reporting tools improvements.
