Job summary

A2F Consulting, an international economics advisory firm, seeks economists with strong quantitative and analytical skills for its Lisbon-based Economic Analysis and Evaluation team. The role combines research, client engagement, and policy-oriented analysis within a hybrid work model requiring regular Lisbon office presence.

We value 2–5 years of relevant experience, advanced degrees in economics, and fluency in English.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Economics, Applied Economics, Econometrics, Finance, Public Policy, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in economic analysis, evaluation, market research, surveys, or applied research.
• Strong quantitative, analytical, and conceptual skills, including experience with software such as R, SPSS, Python, or comparable tools.
• Ability to translate research and analysis into practical policy recommendations.
• Ability to deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and client management skills.
• Excellent written and spoken English; additional language skills are an asset.
• Experience in development cooperation, public policy, regulation, GIS/remote sensing, or advanced evaluation methods is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to and/or lead research and consulting projects for public and private clients on economic policy issues, including evaluations, market studies, surveys, and cost-benefit analyses.
• Develop and apply appropriate research methods, data collection tools, and analytical frameworks using economic and empirical approaches.
• Manage and support projects both on-site and remotely, including oversight of scope, timelines, and quality.
• Contribute to client relationships, business development, proposals, technical reports, and subject‑matter publications.
• Support knowledge management and training activities.
