Enable Mobility is a Portuguese startup with an ambition to be an integrated player in electric mobility through three main areas of activity: 1) operation of fast charging hubs, offering comfort and convenience to EV drivers, 2) sale of electricity for EV charging through an app or card, and 3) production of energy from renewable sources with storage solutions to offer competitive prices to our customers.

We want to simplify electric mobility and make it easily accessible to everyone, playing a key role in Portugal’s energy transition. The opportunity is immense: EVs represent less than 2% of all passenger cars in the country but are ~30% of new sales, and the current charging network has a gap of ~6, 000 chargers.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with the CEO and COO to define and implement the company’s financial strategy
  • Set up processes for budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, leading the preparation of financial dashboards to support day‑making and Board‑level communication
  • Own the company’s financial operations, including cash flow management and financial controls
  • Support efforts to raise capital (debt or equity) to sustain the company’s growth
  • Build an internal finance team, including hiring and developing talent
  • Coordinate and oversee accounting, tax, and payroll services
  • Select and implement financial systems and tools to support growth
  • Develop internal policies and procedures for financial governance
  • Ensure compliance with local financial regulations
Qualifications
  • University degree in Economics, Business, Finance, or Accounting
  • 3+ years of experience in finance or controller roles, ideally in a startup or growth environment
  • Strong understanding of accounting and tax principles, financial modelling, and strategic planning
  • Solid budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting experience
  • Exceptional analytical, problem solving, and strategic thinking skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with experience working functionally and aligning multiple stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead performing teams
  • Proactive, entrepreneurial and driven
  • Proficient in English and Portuguese, with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Excel and accounting software
