Job summary

Loka is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to join our growing team. In this role you will build and improve ML solutions across multiple projects, applying GenAI to deliver robust, scalable systems for real clients.

We are a globally distributed consultancy, remote-first, with relocation options and a culture built on experimentation and collaboration. You will grow your craft alongside an experienced ML crew on work that ships to real clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 2+ years of AI/ML engineering experience.
• Hands-on GenAI, prompt engineering, fine-tuning and serving LLMs.
• Understanding of statistical, ML and deep learning algorithms.
• Working knowledge of cloud ML services, preferably AWS (Bedrock, SageMaker).
• Proficiency in Python and core ML libraries and frameworks (scikit-learn, PyTorch, HuggingFace, TensorFlow, Transformers).
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain GenAI system components including LLM-powered features.
• Create information retrieval pipelines with embeddings and vector search.
• Contribute to evaluation frameworks and production monitoring.
• Wrangle, explore and visualize data with data cleaning.
• Deploy, maintain and upgrade ML models and pipelines; analyze errors.
• Write and maintain technical documentation.
