iTRTech Group is seeking a GCP Data Engineer for a hybrid role in Lisbon, Portugal. The candidate will deploy and operate a Telco data model across multiple European geographies, building scalable pipelines and implementing orchestration with Cloud Composer.

Requirements include 3+ years of data engineering experience, strong GCP skills (BigQuery, Cloud Run, GCS) and English B2. The role combines 60% remote work with 40% onsite in Lisbon.

About The Opportunity

We are looking for a GCP Data Engineer to support the deployment and operationalisation of a Telco Data Model solution within an international telecommunications environment spanning several European geographies.

You will build and support scalable data pipelines, optimise performance and implement orchestration, monitoring and testing across the platform. The role requires practical experience with BigQuery, Cloud Run, Google Cloud Storage and Cloud Composer.

Key Responsibilities

• Deploy and operationalise the Telco Data Model prototype in the target environment.
• Support feature expansion and integration across the data platform.
• Design, develop and optimise data ingestion pipelines into BigQuery, ensuring scalability and performance.
• Implement and maintain orchestration workflows using Google Cloud Composer (Managed Airflow).
• Test and validate raw ingestion, curated, historical and serving/consumption layers.
• Monitor platform health and performance using Google Cloud Logging and alerting capabilities.
• Troubleshoot data processing, orchestration and platform issues.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, architects and development teams to ensure successful delivery and operational stability.

Required Skills And Experience

• At least 3 years of experience in Data Engineering and Cloud Data Platforms.
• Proven hands‑on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience designing, deploying and supporting data pipelines in production.
• Strong experience with Google BigQuery.
• Experience developing and optimising Cloud Run services for data ingestion into BigQuery.
• Hands‑on experience with Google Cloud Storage (GCS).
• Experience with Google Cloud Composer (Managed Airflow) for workflow orchestration.
• Knowledge of Google Cloud Logging and Alerting.
• Experience implementing data models and testing pipelines across the full data platform lifecycle.
• Strong understanding of ETL/ELT processes, performance tuning and data engineering best practices.
• Experience in monitoring, troubleshooting and operational support.
• English B2 or above.
• Availability to work onsite in Lisbon for 40% of the working schedule.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in telecommunications and familiarity with Telco data models.
• Knowledge of data governance and data quality frameworks.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Familiarity with event‑driven architectures and real‑time data processing.
• Experience in agile environments and cross‑functional teams.
• Additional European language skills.

Ideal Profile

A data engineer with practical experience delivering and operating GCP data solutions in production. You should be comfortable investigating pipeline issues, improving performance and validating data across multiple layers, while collaborating with technical teams and business stakeholders.
