Job summary

Aubay Portugal is hiring a Data Engineer to design and execute migrations from SQL Server to Google Cloud Platform, and to develop robust ETL/ELT pipelines on BigQuery. You will optimize SQL queries and use Python to automate migrations, collaborating with technical and business teams to ensure platform reliability.

The role focuses on cloud migration, data transformation, and performance optimization in a hybrid work setup in Portugal.

Qualifications

6+ years as Data Engineer, with cloud focus.
GCP expertise including BigQuery for schema design and queries.
Experience with Google Cloud Composer to orchestrate DAGs.
Proficient in SQL and Python for data transformation and API interactions.
Experience or strong understanding of migrating databases from on-prem SQL Server to GCP.
English fluency at B2 level.

Responsibilities

Participate in design and execution of data migration strategies from SQL Server to Google Cloud.
Develop and optimize data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes for BigQuery.
Design and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines on GCP using Cloud Composer.
Optimize SQL queries for BigQuery and design efficient data schemas.
Automate migration tasks and data transformations with Python.
Collaborate with technical and business teams to ensure platform reliability.
