Alan is hiring an engineer to help build the AI-first medical software and the customer setup machinery for HRs. You will work closely with doctors, nurses, designers, and operations, delivering features that improve prevention health care for workers.

Based in Paris with remote work flexibility, you will join a fast-growing healthtech team that values ownership, rapid iteration, and a strong product focus. This role offers cross-functional collaboration and growth.

The mission & impact:

In France, every employee is entitled to a doctor whose job is to ensure they stay healthy at work. On paper: yearly check-ups, prevention plans, workplace risk assessments, return-to-work visits. In practice: an under-invested corner of French healthcare, with medical teams drowning in paperwork instead of doing medicine, and expediting visit after visit with little care as a result.

We think that’s backwards. If millions of French workers each get to see an occupational health doctor multiple times in their career, that’s one of the biggest untapped prevention channels in the country - and we’re going to make it live up to its promise.

Alan Tech is building the tech and operations behind Prévenir, a brand new occupational health service, since 2025. We're building a proprietary medical stack from scratch, scaling operations to dozens of thousands of workers, and just opened Prévenir's first physical medical center in Paris - inside the Alan building.

A startup inside the startup: Prévenir has its own product, its own P&L, its own regulatory framework, and its own medical team. You get the autonomy and pace of a 0-to-1 team, sitting inside one of Europe’s fastest-growing healthtechs, with access to Alan's expertise, its stack, and its ecosystem.

What you'll build and who you’ll work with

• Our AI-first medical software used by dozens of health professionals every day: patient file, consultation audio transcription, workplace risks, video consultation, appointment scheduling, everything is a seamless and time-saving way.
• The customer setup machinery making all the affiliation, contracting, billing, or risk declaration complexity super simple for HRs.
• Onsite member experience: you'll help design and implement the best experience possible for workers and health professionals alike, both online and onsite in our brand new medical center located on the first floor of our Paris office.

You’ll work closely with doctors and nurses, Product Designers, User Researchers, Operations folks, and with other eng teams across Alan. A large portion of the team is composed of ex-entrepreneurs, so if you ever considered launching your own business one day, our team might be the best place to learn the ropes.

The Stack

• Python/Flask, React, PostgreSQL in a monorepo. We deploy daily and believe in distributed ownership - you build it, you own it.
• Also, Claude Code team plan for all + our in-house coding agent Hopper built on top, fine-tuned for our codebase and ecosystem.

What we’re looking for

Technical Requirements

• 2+ years shipping prod-quality fullstack features - backend or frontend specialization is fine as long as you’re comfortable with both.
• You care about scalable, reliable systems that real users depend on - occupational health has hard uptime and regulatory constraints.

What we value

• Zero-to-one: you love building new products from scratch and are comfortable with the associated ambiguity
• Product-minded: you think about the doctor, the HR admin, and the employee as much as you think about the code.
• Grit and bias for action:you make decisions with incomplete information, ship, learn, and iterate.

Language and location

• French fluency will be a plus to interact with our medical team or our customers.
• Being based in Paris is also a nice-to-have, especially if you're interested in designing the onsite experience or working alongside our medical team.
