Riskified is hiring a Full Stack Engineer for the Lumos Team in Lisbon. You will build scalable FinTech software, collaborate with clients and internal teams, and own features from planning to deployment within a CI/CD workflow.

The role emphasizes end-to-end development, owning both backend and frontend work, and leveraging technologies like Scala, React, Kafka, and Kubernetes in a hybrid work environment.

Qualificações

• 2+ years of hands-on server-side coding experience.
• Hands-on experience in React.
• Experience with Scala or other functional languages is a plus.
• Proficiency with SQL/noSQL databases.
• Proven full-stack development experience across frontend and backend.
• Familiarity with stream processing is advantageous.

Responsabilidades

• Conceptualize and develop highly scalable architectures for ML systems and platforms.
• Work across real-time and batch jobs using Scala/JS/React and tools like Spark, Kafka, Kubernetes, Docker.
• Continuously deploy code to production using CI/CD pipelines.
• Contribute to end-to-end development of Riskified's core offerings.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to design and implement new features.

About the Role

Join Riskified’s dynamic payment fraud group as a Full Stack Developer and contribute to our innovative and rapidly expanding department. In this role, you’ll thrive in an Agile setting, utilizing cutting‑edge technologies to build impactful FinTech products. You’ll play a crucial role in expanding Riskified’s ecosystem, collaborating with both clients and internal teams to make a daily difference to our business.

This responsibility covers everything from the initial phase of planning features, where collaboration occurs with Product and Design teams, to carefully choosing suitable technologies, designing code and architecture, conducting pull request reviews, and reaching the final step of deployment within a CI/CD setup. Additionally, overseeing post‑deployment monitoring is also part of your duties.

Whether you enjoy writing complex business logic in the backend, take pleasure in writing clean and high‑quality code, or tweaking the servers and infrastructure to perform well at scale, we encourage you to get your hands dirty end‑to‑end.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Conceptualize and develop highly scalable architectures for our machine learning systems and platforms.
• Engage with large‑scale projects encompassing real‑time and batch jobs, working across a spectrum of programming languages (Scala, JS/React) and technologies (Apache Spark, Kafka, Kubernetes, Docker, etc.).
• Continuously deploy code to production, leveraging our advanced CI/CD tools.
• Play an important role in the end‑to‑end development of products that significantly enhance Riskified’s core offerings.
• Collaborate closely with engineering and product management teams to ideate, design, and implement new features across the product landscape.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of demonstrated hands‑on experience in server‑side coding.
• Hands‑on experience in React.
• Hands‑on experience in Scala or other functional programming - advantage.
• Proficiency in database technologies (SQL/noSQL).
• Proven experience in full‑stack development, with proficiency in both front‑end and back‑end technologies.
• Familiarity with stream applications - advantage.
• Possess a self‑directed learning approach to software development.
• A collaborative team player with exceptional communication skills and the capacity to work autonomously.

We include transparent salary ranges to support fairness, clarity, and informed decision‑making early in the process. The base salary range for this position is €50,000 - €75,000 gross annually for candidates based in Lisbon. Your actual salary will be determined based on your unique skills, experience, and competencies. If your expectations differ, please let us know - we’re always open to a conversation. The base salary is one part of the total compensation package at Riskified. All full‑time regular employees receive a bonus target and are eligible to receive stock‑based awards.
